Solar construction saves SoCal
In a span of five years, Fresno’s Local 100 has recovered from 35-40 percent unemployment back to almost pre-recession levels, and solar power was the saving grace.
All over Southern California the solar industry is booming. The price of solar panels has plummeted, and government programs have also made solar more accessible. Membership in local chapters has increased exponentially in some areas of the state.
Though solar construction may slow in a couple years after the federal tax credit expires, a few more years of steady solar field work is expected.
