How to not set your tree on fire
It’s that time of year! Everyone is busy preparing for and celebrating the holidays, with lights twinkling on the tree and perhaps around the house and yard, candles lit, and tasty treats baking in the oven.
With all the hustle and bustle it’s easy to overlook some serious safety concerns. Overloaded outlets or damaged wiring on light strings can cause electrical fires, as can stringing too many strands of lights together.
ESFI and the NFPA’s list of holiday safety tips talks about electrical and other fire hazards that can be avoided with a little diligence. Passing this list onto customers this season is a great idea.
