New solar technology may be more efficient

Solar panels are continuing to get cheaper and more commercially viable. New technology has arisen that may make harvesting energy from the sun more efficient.

Current technology uses photovoltaic cells that only use a small amount of sunlight. A new technique involves using metal structures instead of silicon to harness power generated by electrostatic charges.
