Protecting wind turbines from lightning is an important part of the renewable energy game. These complex electronic installations are becoming more prevalent worldwide, and operators cannot afford downtimes.

Surge and lightning protection is especially important for wind turbines because of their height and exposed positions, and earth-to-cloud lightning (upward flashes) need to be considered as well.
