One of the biggest complaints from the general public concerning green energy is that so many of the options (like solar panels and wind turbines) are eye sores. There are a few plans in the works to solve this issue, and one of them is a wind-powered tree.
Standing 36 feet tall, these steel structures have the shape of a futuristic tree, with little vertical turbines that generate electricity when they’re hit with a breeze.
Though the structures are low capacity, they could be used to power things like street lights or help offset electricity costs.
