Solar power is making a splash in Japan
Japan’s Yamakura Dam reservoir will soon be home to a 13.4MW floating solar power plant. The plant is being developed by Kyocera Corp. and Century Tokyo Leasing Corp.
The plant will be installed over an area of 180,000 square meters and will provide enough electricity to power roughly 4,700 houses.
Open water may be a more economically viable place to develop solar arrays than on land.
